A Perkins Loan is a need-based student loan offered by the Federal Government. This federally assured student loan that is distributed through the college you are going to attend. A Perkins Loans are five percent interest rate loans that must be eventually repaid; currently the max yearly loan amount is $4,000 for an undergraduate student and $6,000 for a graduate student.
