5 Packing for College Tips
There’s going to come a time when you pack up your bags and head off to your college dorm room. Sure, there are going to be a lot of students that stay at home, but what you’re going to find out is that when you’re ready to pack up your bags, you may be a little lost and that’s okay.
Packing for college shouldn’t involve putting your whole room in a bag and leaving. Instead, you’re going to want to know of a few helpful tips that will ensure you that you’re bringing the right things to your dorm room.

5 packing for college tips you can use:

Tip #1 Talk with your roommate

This is a very important step. Make sure that you get into contact with your roommate. You will want to make sure that you know what each one of you is bringing. There’s no reason to bring 2 microwaves, refrigerators, etc. The more you can plan together, the less you will have to bring.

Tip #2 Only bring necessities

Your dorm room isn’t going to be big and if you have found yourself there already, there’s not a lot of room. You don’t want to bring a 55” inch TV, nor do you want to bring a queen size bed. These items just won’t fit. Instead, you will want to follow a good college checklist online.

Tip #3 Condense things

There are a few things that you can do to make your room feel a whole lot bigger. For example, you don’t need to bring a TV. Instead, use your computer monitor as a TV. This will be just as good as a TV, but will take up a lot of space. Also think about using your bed for a couch, or even though it’s tacky, get inflatable furniture.

Tip #4 Bring storage boxes

The best thing to purchase is under the bed storage. These totes are great to throw things in and store items. You can throw them in, and then just toss them under the bed without anyone even seeing them.

Tip #5 Keep expensive stuff at home

Dorm rooms are bound to be broken into, or you may find that someone will come in that you don’t trust. The next thing that you know is that you’re missing your ring, necklace, or something of value. If you have to, you may want to invest into a safe.

These are all things to consider when you’re packing for your dorm. I’m hoping that if you follow them, your packing process is going to be a lot easier than just going in without doing a little bit of research first.
