Preparing for College / Manhattan College Life - Venturing Around Campus![]() After leaving my college dorm called Chrysostom Hall, I decided to venture off into the main campus area, where I was to meet a large number of other students filtering through the stair cases & walking in various directions. I was excited to finally meet the many new faces, & college personalities on campus especially the veteran students that have had knowledge of the physical things to do there at Manhattan College & all the cool places to become more actively involved with. Orientation day was about 2 days away, I actually decided to check into my dorm room 2 days ahead of scheduled classroom openings, so I could get situated & tour the campus. Luckily I decided to do so, because things could have got out of order, if I didn't do things ahead of time. I was happy to see everything unfolding in a manner that I expected, and definitely in the beginning of college. It was just how I thought it should actually have started out for me, years back as a young kid my imagination would always run wild, trying to explore uncharted regions. Not everyone was as lucky as me, I noticed many other new students appeared to be somewhat lost or confused as to where they should go next. I on the other hand had a good idea as to where I should go, because I first visited the campus information office to get a map of all the campus locations. Next I decided to ask other students questions about what was the school really like, how were some of the classes, & most of all did they know where everyone went to enjoy the night life. Loving the Campus Atmosphere Manhattan College campus was a breath of fresh air for me compared to all my previous school experiences I've had as well as many other places I've been. I particularly enjoyed the trees, and landscape scenery of the lawn in the middle of it's beautiful campus, and the buildings that formed a sorta square shaped complex around this awesome greenery. Many of the students use this area as a place to meet up, and socialize with one another. On my first voyage out I noticed that all the activity there was pretty chaotic because everyone was so excited to see one another, so many people in one place a one time, at times it was somewhat over whelming but it was so awesome to experience people interacting on such a high level of communication, everyone was friendly. Each person you came in contact with seemed to stem in a new found relation, each person I met had a differing experience to offer, & we all seemed to have a connection with one another. My guess was, this is how college must be like all the time, and I was loving the new experience of engaging with newer people on differing levels of communication. Online Home and Family Articles:
